An electrifying lineup featuring Kevin Hays with special guest Kevin Graham, and Fay Victor's Herbie Nichols' SUNG (trio). Herbie Nichols SUNG is a deeply personal and loving homage to the esteemed bop era pianist, Herbie Nichols. Featuring all original lyrics by Fay Victor, the project is a collaboration, a reflection, and a re-imagining of Nichols’ joyful, swinging compositions. Victor and Nichols share cultural roots in Trinidad, and their spiritual connection is palpable throughout the album.
For this performance, Victor is joined by bandmates, pianist Anthony Coleman and double-bassist Ratzo Harris.
